What to do with Old Kitchen Cabinets?

So my new kitchen led to a lot of extra old kitchen cabinets...!

So my excellent hubby created a new craft desk for me!
He put a few cabinets together, added some wheels, spray painted chalkboard pain on the back, and made a beautiful wood top!

It is the perfect craft desk... With lots of storage!

It is the perfect place to scrapbook, sew, or plan out our homeschool lessons!

Carnival 2 Year Old Birthday Party

Our Carnival Food Menu

Sausage Strata (basically like egg bake)
Super Cheesy Potatoes
Mini Pasties
Punch
Animal Crackers
Cracker Jacks
Cake
The Automatic Candy Machine

Games:
Water Shooter - knock the golf ball off the tee with a water soaker gun

Duck Pond Racing - blow a rubber duck across the pond (rubber tub) with a straw and race your friend

Bean Bag Toss

Ring Toss - with root beer bottles and plastic little girl bracelets

Since we had a range of kids from 2-10 we had to find a way to make the games fair for everyone.
So each childs "PRIZE" or favor bag was marked with a number of tickets required for "purchase"

The number of tickets was the child's age multiplied by 3...So if you were 2 you needed 6 tickets for your prize and if you were 10 you would need 30!

A simple roll of carnival tickets from Amazon Prime was just what we needed!

The Prizes:
Magic Tree House Books for >4 years old

Clifford Carnival Book for <4 years old

Lollipops

Circus Sticker Books

Clown Noses

Face Painters
A few expert teenage babysitters of ours did some beautiful face painting for all the kids!

Our favorite Chocolate Cake and Frosting Recipe from Buddy Valastro!

Dining Room Makeover

Paint Color:
Lowe's Valspar Stillness 7005-2

Here are the instructions for our

Do it Yourself Chalk Board Sign

In our house the memory verse changes every week...
And sometimes with busy schedules they are hard to keep track of?!
So we decided to make our own sign

I got my materials from Michaels but I am sure you can find these things at any hardware store

Chalkboard Spray Paint
White Spray Paint
Wood Cut to the size of the sign you want
Some pretty dainty trim
Wood Glue
Wood Clamps
Chalk
Eraser
Picture Hangers for the back of the sign

Here is the paint I used:

First lay out your wood and spray paint all the pieces

Then depending on the size of your sign you may glue the pieces and use a few finishing nails!
Its really that easy!

Now our verse is easily visible and a great daily reminder of where our focus as a family belongs!

2 Year Old Bedroom Makeover

M2's room... We didn't have to paint this one! Yeaaahhhhh! I really do like to paint but I do NOT like painting every single room in the house in one swoop... So I was very happy that the colors in this room work great for M2's decor!

Our house has two dormers in the front and 2 dormers in the back. So each of the girls rooms have a dormer in the front and the back! I have to say I love dormers! They are so much fun!

We created a "reading room" in each girls bedroom in one of the dormers
All you need
Curtains
Curtain rod with wall cups
or a tension curtain rod
A few gutters for book shelves
A cute light
And a Handy Husband!

M2's reading room has some of her favorite toys, a large pouf that I will post instructions for in the future, two gutter bookshelves, a little yellow rug and a bead lamp (thanks to Target).

Living Room Redo/ Makeover

The living room started out a very interesting color combo of terra cotta and peach...
Obviously not my favorite color!

Here are the before pictures:
And the front door:

We picked two colors for the living room
The first color was a tan/gray combo it looks tan in some lights and more gray in other lights
From Lowes:
Valspar Portland ar1317

The second color was an accent color for the one wall and the front door:
Valspar Pacific Coast 4004-4B
